EDI (Electrodeionization), also known as continuous electrodeionization technology, scientifically integrates electrodialysis technology and ion exchange technology. Through the selective permeability of cation and anion exchange membranes to cations and anions, as well as the exchange effect of ion exchange resins on ions in water, it realizes the directional migration of ions in water under the action of an electric field, thereby achieving deep purification and desalination of water. The hydrogen ions and hydroxide ions generated by water electrolysis continuously regenerate the filled resin, enabling long-term continuous operation. The combined process with secondary reverse osmosis can produce high-purity water with a quality of 5-15 MΩ·cm or higher.

Replacement of various distilled water.
The EDI module sandwiches ion exchange resins between anion/cation exchange membranes to form EDI units.
A certain number of EDI units in the EDI module are separated by grids to form concentrated water chambers and fresh water chambers. Anion and cation electrodes are set at both ends of the unit group. Driven by direct current, the anions and cations in the water flow of the freshwater chamber pass through the anion and cation exchange membranes, respectively, and enter the concentrated water chamber, thus being removed from the freshwater chamber. The water passing through the concentrated water chamber carries ions out of the system and becomes concentrated water.
Optimal stability of effluent quality.
Continuous production of ultrapure water meeting user requirements.
Modular production, enabling PLC full-automatic control.
No acid-base regeneration required; concentrated water can be recycled with no sewage discharge.
Simple operation and maintenance; no shutdown due to regeneration.
EDI is the best alternative technology to the traditional ion exchange mixed bed process. The emergence of EDI is a revolutionary progress in water treatment technology, marking that the water treatment industry has fully entered the ranks of green industries. It organically combines traditional electrodialysis technology and ion exchange technology to continuously produce high-quality pure water without using acids and alkalis, completely getting rid of problems such as acid-base consumption and chemical waste liquid pollution, thus truly realizing clean production.
