Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Nanofiltration (NF) are membrane separation technologies that rely on selectively permeable (semi-permeable) membranes and use pressure as the driving force. When the pressure applied in the system exceeds the osmotic pressure of the feed water solution, water molecules continuously permeate through the membrane, flow into the central tube via the product water channel, and then exit from one end. Impurities in the water, such as ions, organic matter, bacteria, viruses, and the like, are retained on the feed water side of the membrane and discharged along with the concentrated water from the concentrated water outlet, thereby achieving the purpose of separation and purification.
