Ultrafiltration (UF) adopts the new hollow fiber filtration technology, combined with three-stage pre-treatment filtration to remove impurities from tap water. The pore size of the UF membrane is less than 0.1 μm, which can completely filter out harmful substances such as bacteria, rust, and colloids in water while retaining beneficial trace elements and minerals for the human body. During UF membrane filtration, macromolecular solutes cannot pass through the membrane and remain on one side, thus realizing partial purification of macromolecular substances.
The principle of ultrafiltration is also a membrane separation process principle. It uses a pressure-activated membrane. Under the action of an external driving force (pressure), colloids, particles, and substances with relatively high molecular weights in water are retained, while water and small solute particles pass through the membrane, realizing the separation.
The ultrafiltration process involves no phase transformation, operates at normal temperature, has mild conditions without component destruction, and is especially suitable for the separation of heat-sensitive substances, such as the separation, classification, concentration, and enrichment of drugs, enzymes, fruit juices, and so on.
It has good temperature resistance, acid-alkali resistance, and oxidation resistance, and can be used continuously for a long time under the condition of pH 2-11.
Ultrafiltration technology has high separation efficiency, which is very effective for the recovery of trace components in dilute solutions and the concentration of low-concentration solutions.
The ultrafiltration process only uses pressure as the driving force for membrane separation, so the separation device is simple, the process is short, the operation is convenient, and it is easy to control and maintain.
