Water treatment pumps are mechanical devices that transfer the mechanical energy of prime movers or other external energy to liquids, increasing their energy to achieve transportation or pressurization. Their core functions include increasing liquid pressure, changing liquid positions (such as from low to high), and transporting fluids over long distances.

FAQs of Water Treatment Pumps

  • Q
What are the daily maintenance measures for water treatment pumps?
    A

    1. Lubrication management

Bearing lubrication: Regularly check the oil level and quality of lubricating oil (grease). The new pump needs oil change after one week of commissioning, and then change oil every quarter. Bearings lubricated with grease need grease change every 2000 hours.

Mechanical seal: Ensure sufficient supply of cooling liquid and flushing liquid during operation to prevent seal damage caused by liquid cut-off.

    2. Vibration and noise monitoring

Check whether the pump body vibration exceeds the standard (the vibration value of the bearing seat must meet the standard). Abnormal vibration may be caused by bearing damage, shaft bending, or impeller imbalance. If abnormal noise occurs during operation, stop the machine immediately for inspection. Common causes include cavitation, bearing wear, or foreign matter entry.

    3. Sealing and leakage control

Packing seal: Adjust the tightness of the gland to ensure the dripping speed is 30-60 drops per minute. Replace the packing if there is excessive leakage.

Mechanical seal: Regularly check the dynamic ring and sealing liquid status to prevent medium leakage or air entry.

    4. Inspection and replacement of vulnerable parts

Impeller and sealing ring: Wear or increased clearance will reduce pump efficiency. Regularly check and replace (the clearance is generally controlled at about 0.5mm).

Bearing and shaft sleeve: The bearing temperature shall not exceed 75℃. Replace the shaft sleeve when it is severely worn to avoid leakage.

    5. Operating parameter monitoring

Observe whether the outlet pressure and flow are stable to avoid idling or overload operation. Clean the inlet filter regularly to prevent particles from entering the pump body.

    6. Shutdown and long-term storage

When shutting down, close the outlet valve first, then stop the motor. Drain the water in winter to prevent freezing and cracking.

For a long-term shutdown, disassemble the pump body, wipe dry the water, and apply anti-rust grease.

    7. Environment and appearance maintenance

Keep the pump room clean and ventilated, and the equipment appearance free of rust and leakage. Check whether the anchor bolts and pipeline connections are tight to prevent increased vibration.

  • Q
What is the working principle of water treatment pumps?
    A

The working principles of water treatment pumps are mainly divided into centrifugal pumps, vane pumps, gear pumps, etc. The core mechanism is to realize transportation by changing the fluid pressure or volume through mechanical movement.
